Tokyo has a wide range of amusement parks and theme parks that are great for the whole family. There are world-famous theme parks and some old (some very old) amusement parks. Tokyo has something for everyone in Tokyo. Go early if you can, because if the weather is good or its a holiday you can expect to spend the majority of your time waiting in line, especially at Disneyland or DisneySea. Disneyland & DisneySea
This is the most popular theme park in Japan. Disneyland and the newer DisneySea is always a special place for children and the parks are very busy on weekends and holidays. The weekdays are a much better time to visit! DisneySea is unique to Tokyo and has more rides that are aimed at older kids. Tokyo Dome City (LaQua)
Tokyo Dome City is an area all around the Tokyo Dome stadium. It is an amusement park filled with exciting attractions created to entertain you. There are many fun rides and a special children’s area that is filled with various activities to keep the kids happy. Hanayashiki Park
Hanayashiki is the oldest amusement park in Japan and it opened in 1853. It is located next to the famous Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa. Yomiuri Land
Yomiuriland advertises itself as Tokyo’s largest theme park. It has 43 different attractions and they put on a variety of special events throughout the year. Location: 4015-1 Yanokuchi, Inagi-shi, Tokyo Train Access: Yomiuriland-mae Station, 5 min bus ride or 10 min Gondola ride Google Maps
Yokohama Cosmoworld
Yokohama Cosmo World is a family-friendly amusement park in the heart of the Minato Mirai area. The park is divided into three zones, the Kids Carnival Zone, Brano Street, and Wonder Amuse. There are a two-level merry-go-round and monorail that provides great views of the area. Toshima-en Amusement Park
The amusement park is a bit old and dated, but it has an assortment of rides and various other entertainment activities. It is very kid-friendly and is a fun place for the family. Location: 3-Chome-25-1 Koyama, Nerima City, Saitama Train Access: Toshimaen Station, 4 min walk Google Maps
