For golf lovers in Tokyo, getting to your favorite course might mean a bus ride, a Shinkansen or a really long drive (if you have a car). But don’t worry, due to the economic boom in Japan during the 1980s and 1990s, huge indoor and outdoor golf driving ranges were built all over Tokyo and close to most major train stations. These driving ranges in Tokyo can be small, or extremely large multi-story complexes that have hundreds of people practicing. They can be relatively cheap, or extremely expensive depending on their size and location in Tokyo. Some are for members only and some you can go and rent a club and hit 20 balls for under $20. Some are digital, some are totally old school where you have to actually place a ball from a bucket. If you want to find golf courses near Tokyo, please check our reference guide here.
